Jean Austin and Friends of the Library will host a presentation on the Hendricks Lake treasure legend followed by a book signing. Hughes Springs was founded by a couple of brothers apparently following another version of the Trammell treasure legend and that is part of the mythology of the city. This should be an exciting and interesting discussion for a lively group.
This will be a fun event. I’ll have a book table, selling and signing both True Believers and Trammel’s Trace, and will do a presentation on the Hendricks Lake treasure legend. Hope people from all around Rusk and Panola county will stop by.
The Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs, Texas Treasure Show makes its way to East Texas this time. This state-wide treasure show will be my first opportunity to have a booth to sell and sign books.
Admission to the show is only $3.00 per day. Lots of interesting gear, artifacts, relics, and coins.
This is the beginning! This will be the debut of the new book “True Believers: Treasure Hunters at Hendricks Lake.” I expect that many of the people from the book will be represented by family members. The College will be serving refreshments.
